Since my recent trip back home to Kasugai in Japan, I’ve been reflecting on memories of my childhood there. This lamp mimics the shape of a bell tower that once stood in the central plaza of a local shopping mall, which had originally been constructed in the 1970s. The tower was ultimately demolished and replaced in the mid-2000s, and I can’t help but wish they had kept the original. Oh well! That longing for what’s gone yielded the Ding Dong Table Lamp.
